Luminescent Lanthanide Probes for Evaluation of Physiological Phosphates

Abstract:

The physiological phosphates (PP) consisting of both inorganic and organic phosphates play numerous fundamental roles crucial for survival. Therefore, a reliable, sensitive, high-throughput screening (HTS) to monitor levels of crucial PPs and associated enzymatic reactions is essential for understanding enzyme mechanisms, discovery and screening of inhibitors, or disease diagnosis. Here I intend to develop highly sensitive luminescent Ln(III)-based physiological phosphate-responsive functional probes using differential binding interactions or enzyme-reactive functionality in chelating antenna with a goal of studying associated enzyme kinetics via time-gated luminescence spectroscopy using a variety of innovative design strategies.
